MAFC fall in pk's

The 2021 League Cup final had a little bit of everything, red & yellow cards, goals on both sides of the field and extra time which forced penalty kicks to decide the outcome.

MAFC took control of the game early on and managed to find the back of the net in the 15th minute to take the lead 1-0 over Fall River FC-2. Ten minutes later though, MAFC found themselves down a man when midfielder Patric received a red card for reacting to a late challenge.

Fall River FC-2 managed to take advantage of being a man up to score a tying goal late in the first half. The 1-1 scoreline would carry over to the 90th minute, including a MAFC missed pk in the 70th.

Per league rules, the match if tied would go to penalty kicks and that’s where both sides found themselves come the end of regulation time. MAFC missed their first attempt and FRFC-2 managed to convert all 5 penalty kicks to give them the win and the 2021 OSSL League Cup.
