Marksmen fall to Hoboken FC 1912
A warm and sunny afternoon in Secaucus, New Jersey greeted the Marksmen as they faced off against Hoboken FC 1912.
A first time match up of the two clubs and it didn’t disappoint for the hometown fans as the Marksmen dropped the match 6-1. Although the first twenty minutes of the match produced numerous chances and possession for the Marksmen, Hoboken FC struck their first goal in the 25th minute and proceeded to pile on the pressure from here on out. A few more chances from the Marksmen in the first half after going down 1-0 gave some hope to the team that all was not lost but when the half time whistle blew it was an all too familiar scenario of being down and almost out as Hoboken FC walked off the pitch with a commanding 3-0 lead. The second half produced a few more chances for the Marksmen but it wasn’t until the 90th minute and facing a 6-0 score line when Marksmen defender Ivan Andrade stepped up to bury a penalty kick and provide a small reward for the Marksmen’s efforts by preventing the team from heading home back to Fall River goalless.
6-1 was the final and the Marksmen remain winless in 2020 and still searching for their first win of the season.
