Marksmen to field academy team in OSSL

The Marksmen will be joining forces with the Rhode Island based Ocean State Soccer League in 2021 by placing their academy team within the league which is slated to kick off it’s 2021 season in March. With the original Marksmen playing out of Tiverton, Rhode Island in Marks Stadium, the decision to bring the Marksmen name back to Rhode Island was an all too easy one for club management.

The Marksmen main adult team will remain in the Boston based Bay State Soccer League, BSSL and will be using the neighboring OSSL as a means to help promote Rhode Island soccer and further deepen ties with the club’s neighboring region of Rhode Island by offering players aged 16 & up an affordable place to develop and play.

Select players from the Marksmen adult team will also slide into OSSL academy team as a means to further their own development as well as helping to deepen the ties between the Marksmen 1st team and academy team.

Academy information, including registration, coaching staff and pricing will be unveiled in October. The academy will operate from March through November with weekly training sessions and league matches along with participation in state and regional adult tournaments.
