99 years ago today, Sam Mark secured the rights to the ASL (American Soccer League) franchise in Fall River.

The Fall River Marksmen would become one of the greatest clubs in U.S. soccer history. The team dominated all competitions, securing 6 ASL titles, 4 US Open Cups and 1 Lewis Cup from 1922-1931.

Sam Mark and the Marksmen would go on to accomplish many other feats during their reign as the American Menace, including a European tour & building the first American soccer specific stadium in neighboring Tiverton, Rhode Island, Marks Stadium.
